What we insulate

More than straight pipe.

A reliable system depends on the full assembly: insulation material, thickness, vapor control, fitting treatment, supports, jacket and weather protection. Ravenshade works from the drawings and specifications through field coordination and closeout.

HVAC piping

Chilled water, heating hot water, condenser water, glycol, refrigerant, steam and condensate systems—indoors, exposed, in mechanical rooms and in exterior conditions.

Plumbing piping

Domestic cold water, domestic hot water, recirculation, roof and storm drainage, and other specified plumbing services.

Fittings and equipment

Elbows, tees, valves, flanges, strainers, pumps, tanks, heat exchangers and specialty components receive details appropriate to access, service and finish requirements.

No one material is correct for every line. Final material, thickness, jacket and vapor-retarder requirements are governed by the project documents, service temperature, ambient conditions and exposure.

Below-ambient systems are detailed to limit humid air from reaching cold surfaces at seams, fittings, valves, supports and penetrations.

What types of pipe insulation does Ravenshade install?

Our commercial work includes fiberglass, closed-cell elastomeric, calcium silicate and specified specialty systems, with PVC, aluminum or other compatible finishes where required.

Can pipe insulation stop condensation?

A properly selected and installed system can control surface condensation, but success depends on more than thickness alone. Service temperature, ambient temperature and humidity, vapor-retarder continuity, supports, fittings and exposure all matter.

Do you work from mechanical specifications and drawings?

Yes. We review the applicable drawings, Division 22 and Division 23 specifications, schedules, details, addenda and field conditions to define the insulation scope.

Where does Ravenshade perform commercial pipe-insulation work?

We are based in Pittsburgh and serve Western and Central Pennsylvania, including work extending north toward Erie and east toward Johnstown.
